I thought I would do a combination of stamping and sewing for my first project. I used tea dyed calico to make my little calico fabric purse and the Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue stamp set.
I cut two pieces of calico in a rectangle with a point at one end (rather like the shape of a house) and one piece of interfacing (optional) then stamped randomly with the Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue rubber stamps in coffee archival ink. I cut a heart shape piece of calico and stamped the lady with parasol and then stitched to one of the stamped pieces. I added a strip of lace, then placed the stamped sides of the calico together with the piece of interfacing and stitched all the way round leaving a 3 inch opening on one side. I trimmed the seams before tuning inside out. Then I pressed and folded into the purse shape and stitched into place all along the edges. I added some braid and a tassel to finish.

I love this! Gorgeous!
Fabulous project Paula and ask always your work is stunning. The stamping the detail and the feminmity of the piece is so beautiful. With fabric there is no room for error and you have created another masterpiece.
