With plans to travel to sunnier climes I wanted to make a journal from these fabulous book covers from 7 gypsies. They didn’t need much altering but I added a steampunk charm and Dresden wings with a brad to the top of the Eiffel Tower. A cinema ticket from a pack of ephemera and the word travel finished the front cover. The word travel I embossed onto a scrap of thin card using a dymo punch.
I cut some black card for the pages and sewed them together with a simple signature method, covering the stitches with pieces of the black twill tape and inserting black lace between the cover and first page.
I covered the first page with the postcard paper adding a mini envelope decorated with scraps and tag (with another piece of twill tape stapled to secure it to the tag.
The pages are decorated with 7 Gypsies rub-ons, German scraps and a mask and feather sticker. Now my journal is ready for a French travel adventure.
