Hello again!
A week to go until Mothers Day, so there’s still time to create something fabulous to add that personal touch to that special day! How about a very cute little chipboard suitcase, filled with flowers?
Of course, as its me, there’s a step by step to show you how to go about creating one of your own……………
We’ll start with the suitcase. As we’re going for a brown/pink sort of colour scheme, covering the base with white as we normally do will be a little harsh. So, cover the suitcase roughly with cream paint.
Once dry, sponge on some brown paint……..
Continue to add more colour until you have a look you love. Remember to dry between shades!
Next, make some flowers. There are loads of ways to do this, but I’ve made mine by stamping onto cardstock and text paper…..
I also stamped onto acetate, and added extra interest by overstamping with some dots……
Cut everything out. I’ve also used some die cut flowers too…..
Have a play about and layer the flowers up. Try mixing and matching colours and patterns along with size! Edge with paint or ink if you wish, then glue the layers together. I’ve added a faux pearl to the centres too….
Once the glue has dried, flip the flowers over and glue on the stems using a glue gun. I’ve used bamboo skewers for this…..
Trim the skewers to the desired lengths (strong kitchen scissors), then glue to the inside of the case. You will need to hold the skewer in position for a couple of minutes until the glue has dried solid!….
Glue everything in place inside the case. Yes, it will look dreadful with the lumps of glue in there, but these will be covered! For the final touch, cut some very thin strips of card, and coil them around a cocktail stick. Artistically arrange these coils in the case, both as decoration and to hide the glue! All done!!

Something I’m sure every Mum would be delighted to receive!
