I decided to make a tag folder but I didnt have a clear idea of how i wanted it to turn out, I just started to fold and tear paper and hoped for the best so it sort of evolved. I started with Tim Holtz Kraft-Core paper and did lots of sanding and tearing. I sanded over woodchip letters to make the word tag and it looked good, but as the item evolved, I ended up covering over that with more paper. you can still see some of the sanding effect on the inside though.
Basically its one sheet of 12×12 Kraft-core paper folded to create a pocket on the inside then folded in half to make a folder. Then lots of random strips of paper decorating the front, as well as a rusty heart and a rusty star. the tickets were also cut out of a sheet of 12×12 (all papers are listed at the foot of the post.) and simply glued on along the spine. as were the tabs and the little folded time table on the front. As I only used strips and sections of the papers, I have plenty left for other projects, ( I want to cover a box with tickets etc.)
the distressed aged brown look was achieved using the Versamagic chalk inks (gingerbread and jumbo java)
Inside, you can see where i have sanded over letters and objects over the kraft-core paper. The back (behind the pocket has been decorated using a piece of packing paper that my order came wrapped in (no idea what its called) igt had a nic e texture so i inked ver the raised pits and glued it on. (random, uneven edges) there is a piece of corougated card on there too that faces out on to the front of the folder when its closed.
On top of some of the packing paper, I glued on a piece of 7gypsies tissue paper. and aged it with the versamagic chalk ink.
Other than that I have simply glued on some lace and tickets to the pocket, added a rubbing and a couple of metal embellishments I had at home, and its pretty much done. very aged and grungy. there are a couple of pieces from the K&Co ephemera pack on here too. I bought that for a larger project yet to be shown but its stuffed full of lovely bits and bobs so I had loads left over.
I havent made matching tags for it yet, so I have stuffed some random tags I had lying around the craft room in to it. Just to let you see the effect.
