Romantic “Heart” Candle Holder
I’m delighted to be here posting my 1st Design Team project for Calico Crafts.

I started out by painting the wooden box with a layer of white acrylic paint, once dry I then added a layer of texture paste. Once dry I then used some pieces of text from an old book on all four sides of the box, adhering with Matte Medium.

I then added some further layers by stamping a word text stamp lightly over all four sides. The next step was to start introducing some colour. I applied a Rose coloured acrylic paint with my fingers, counter-acting darker areas by introducing more white acyrlic paint.

Continue to add colour until you have achieved the desired effect. To add more texture/layers, I then stamped with some plastic bubble wrap using DecoArt Metallic Patina (Venetian Gold).

I then took some thread ribbon and painted it with DecoArt Metallic Patina paint as above, attach two jump rings to each of the Rusty Hearts, and wrap around decorated box. For the feet I have painted some small domino pieces, adhering to the box with Glossy Accents.
