Today I’m back with my 2nd project of the month … I love Art Journals that you can alter as you see fit, so with this A6 Blank Album, I set about creating colours/textures/layers …. nice and grungy which is right up my street!
You can build up layers by using Gesso & Paints that you have in your own stash, as I did above …. To create texture you can use any household items such as package wrap, bubble wrap, sponge, jar lids, I used mesh plasterboard tape (the possibilities are endless)!
I covered a square on the back of the album using this gorgeous paper from Vintage Decor … then added more paint and more layers!
I have also used a piece of the 12×12 paper for the heart aperture which I outlined with a charcoal pencil to make it pop!

What a fabulous journal Gillian. The texture is indeed gorgeous and the whole cover looks very tactile. Plasterers tape is one of my favourite things to use too, especially as it’s tacky and stays where you put it till you decide to move it. Love all the layers of colour and texture.
